Just in case anyone was wondering... hehe... I made it through Friday and Saturday. My paycheck was "corrected" and should be in my account by tomorrow. Which is a good thing. A very good thing. *L*
And for you WBS patrons, I will be hitting you up for donations for this month. Cliff got all of $10 last month (from me, and I donated after a death in the family for fuck's sake!!!), which doesn't go a long way to paying off the $200+ each month that the server costs. If you like WBS or have a room there and have an extra $5, shame on you for not donating, that's all I'm saying *L* WBS will not go down like ER did, nor will we take it down on a whim or because we get tired of it. It doesn't work like that there. Yes, I know, Cliff can be an ass at times. But I also know it's because he gives a shit at what happens on and to his chat. And that's a rarity from what I'm seeing. Anyway, that's the lecture, be looking for the "Won't you please help?" e-mails and posts soon... heh
The Gavin site is well on its way to being completed. I finished coding the image gallery script last night and I should be getting some content this weekend and someone to program a MB for me, too. Why do I do this to myself? Well, I've answered it... because sooner or later, some music industry person is going to see my work and hopefully be impressed. But in order to do that, I need to get my name out there. And the more sites I do, the more exposure I get. I love my job, but I hate my corporation and I'd really like to have my own gig. Plus, if I ever do find me a set of keyboards and start pursuing music, I'll have an in. It's all about connections.
And at least with the Gavin site, I'm bound to get some bonuses because he's not huge yet like Duran Duran.
Oh, and I dig his music. People with talent deserve more exposure demmit. Down with Britney, up with Gavin, I say. All I know is that it was nice to go to a concert where everything was indeed actually live, with no pre-recorded tracks.
Speaking of which, I saw an interview of Elton John on the "Ellen" show (I love her) and he was talking about his little tiff with Madonna. I'm sorry, but he was right. She shouldn't get best live act, if the show isn't all... well... live. And the excuse of singing and dancing and not being able to sing while dancing is bullshit. As Elton said, he saw Shirley MacLaine do it and Liza Minelli (and they STILL do it and they are FAR older than Madonna). Anyone who's ever done a musical actually has had to sing and dance at the same time. I'VE done it, I mean, seriously. And I've had to do it without a mike, so there.
Speaking of which, I have rehearsal for dinner theatre on Tuesday - woot! And have I looked at my script since our last show? Noooo... damn holidays. Which is something I should probably do today *G*
And that my friends, is the rant of the day.
